Manuals are more fun. Manuals have less power loss. Worked over automatics have less rpm loss. Worked over automatics shift more consistent.

Auto's are better for high horsepower applications, especially V-8's. On a lower horsepower application, the manual would be quicker. As long as we are talking about drag.

If you really want a manual and you are mechanically inclined, I say swap to a manual.

Everything he said sums it up. If you want a manual in the car, do the swap. I have a 98 ka-t that's an auto. People might say it's a waste, but I sure dont miss the days of being n/a now that its turbo .

It depends on what you want to do with the car. For drifting I would imagine you would want a manual over an auto. For drag, an auto has obvious advantages.

Personally, I did a 5-speed swap on my car b/c I can't stand driving auto's. But it's completely up to you!

my car was originally auto and i turboed it with the stock motor and auto for about a month. threw in a built motor and 5spd and been like that from 250rwhp to 531rwhp. im going back to auto over the winter

auto is fine even in a low power car if you jsut want to my more consistent. the weakness is with a stock auto because you cant get a fast launch. there are ways to fix that

mainly if you are into drag racing auto is the way to go.

for a street car 5spd
