i have read several write ups on this swap and have run into a problem. half of the write ups talk about a automatic transmission adapter bearing and the other half dont and some mention the need to install a poilet bushing for the manual transmission. on my engine there is what is described in some of the write ups as the auto adapter bearing. i am under the impression that i have to remove that bearing so that i can install the pilot bushing. is it true that i have to remove the auto bearing and install the pilot bushing inorder to do the swap or does none of this matter?

yes there is a metal bushing in the back of the crankshaft that has to be removed. when its removed you have to install a pilot bushing inside the crankshaft
