Auto lamp malfunction/question

Hey everyone i have a 99 q45 and recntly i noticed that when i have my lights switch on auto the lamps just turn on even though it is bright outside is there anykind of setting/troubleshooting i can do to hopefully fix this problem.thanks all for help.

Think the sensor is on top of the dash.

They will turn on in more overcast conditions with low light level.

If it is a CA car, you have DRL.
