I'm just getting started on this swap, installing a '91 drivetrain into an '89, and I was wondering if anyone had done this before. I'd kind of like to know exactly what to expect and maybe get a couple tips for a smoother installation.

for a start you need to swap the motor, ecu, wiring and cluster.

The auto to manual wiring is quite simple, just 3 sets of wires that need messing with, really. Don't know about E to DE, but like HaveBlue said, you will need the ECU and the wiring harness for the engine.
