I know what you mean, but when my daughter wrecked her QX4 we found that even a "reconditioned" bulb was almost $1000 - supposedly you can't just replace the bulb, it is the whole assembly.motoguy128 wrote:

I thought Versa and TIIDA was vice versa.I also did not know whether this option was available until I took the TIIDA. i knew it was available on MAZDA3 together with the rain detector.I will enquire with Nissan whenI go for my first 1000KM servicing.TweeKeer wrote:I don't think many people have Tiidas around here...since there are some things available only in the tiida and not in the versa.
Auto headlights being one of them, I don't think the Versa has that. Mine doesn't.
I also believed that US cars were more optioned than those sold elsewhere because you can pay more (and you ask for more.) That surprised me a bit but I must be grateful that my TIIDA is from Japan. I also noticed in many threads on this forum that people are having quite different problems with cars. One said that Versa needs more Quality control. May be. I have observed that cars of any make(Japanese) that are assembled out of Japan have many defects. One we noticed here is the 4X4 Nissan Hardbody. Assembled elsewhere(not to mention where) it got rusted after two years in some places. So it is not only a QC issue. that's why I skipped the Honda city (bigger FiT for some) c'os it is from elsewhere. This is the third Japanese car I own.The first were not bought as new but prove to be good.Ever Victorious wrote:Bodywise the Tiida and Versa are identical... but the cars are tailored by Nissan for their individual markets. US and Canadian Versas are moderately well equipped, but you can't get some of the fun toys and luxuries you could get, say, in Japan on their version of the Tiida.
Yea, I hear ya. I wish I had it here. Lots of people refuse to turn on the headlights when driving. There's so many idiots who don't understand that you're not only driving for yourself, your driving for others also. The lights aren't just for you to see in front of you, but for people behind you to see. Once a white or silver car gets a nice spray behind you, you can't even see it (sometimes not until it too late). Lots of state already have laws like, "If the wipers are on, the lights are on". Texas is behind in most things.motoguy128 wrote:I wish all cars had this. This feature should be mandated by law! I can't believe how many retards drive around in low light conditions without headlights on. I've almost pulled in front of several cars the last few months because I couldn't pick them up right away. You'd think headlight bulbs cost $1000 each and only last 6 months that way people use them so sparingly here.
170Watts (approx. electrical load by of head, marker, tail lights) = 0.28HP assuming 80% conversion or less than 1ft-lb of torque at 2000RPM. Not enough to even notice, about a 1% loss.
Sorry for the rant. That's cool that Tiidas have this feature.

Dontcha wish you had a Canadian car? Daytime running lights have been required since about 1988. Of course it makes it hard to sneak around in the dark.
I hate it when stupid yobs driving old beaters are driving around at dusk without lights. It's impossible to tell if they are coming or going.
Exactly... this was my biggest gripe about the V. I kept doing the same thing.OKVersa wrote:Well, I'm one of those "stupid" people driving a new Nissan Versa. I was SOOO used to my "auto" lights that even now, five months later, I sometimes forget to turn on the lights. Since the dash lights are on, it deceives me.
hmmm...knowing that even american and canadian cars are different, talking about Tiida makes me doubt it shares the same platform with Versa ...Redtiida77 wrote: I thought Versa and TIIDA was vice versa.
