Is this normal?

I just picked a new JX35, replaced my 2011 EX35 the other day and noticed something weird with the day time running lights/auto headlights.
I like to keep my head light switch on auto so that I do not have to worry about remembering to turn them on at night. However, it appears that my xeon lights are always on, even when it is sunny. Is this normal? (the nav screen acts like day time, and switches at night like I would expect the head lights to do)

My EX35 didn't keep the xeon lights on during the day, only when it got dark.

Thanks!

Do you also have the fog lights switch on the "on" position? If you do, for some reason it overrides the auto setting.

Interesting... thats the issue... turn the fogs off and the headlights turn off.. Kind of a funky setting/configuration.

Thanks!

The rationale here is that if you need the fog lights you also will need the headlights :-)

I bought my JX last week and was looking at my lights outside a store in Tofino BC. The town had a power outage and I discovered that on auto your fog lights are your running lights. When u turn on the fog lights your headlights also come on as well.
