yeah I also would like to know as much as possible on this subject.

What do the different codes resemble?

How do you get it to think it is in neutral?

How do you keep the CEL from turning on?

Well after I installed the auto ecu in mine the idle is off but I think that is due to timing and not the ecu, and I get an error code but for the knock sensor not anything auto trans related.

So I think the auto ecu part is working fine and I just plugged it in and started the car.

My 5-speed S13 has a tuned auto ECU. I bought it tuned for an auto 240, but even in my car it runs noticeably better than the the stock manual ECU.

i already have the DOHC auto ecu in my manual S13, but the whole idle problem is nagging me. i'm still waiting for someone to post how to trip the ecu neutral sensing, so my idle will be normal. when i come to a stop it idles real high for 5-10 seconds.

I bought my 93 with a manual trans that was swapped from an auto. The seller kept the auto ecu and it ran fine. I picked up a manual ecu for 30 bucks just for piece of mind. The only difference is that there is a rev limiter at 5k before the engine is warm and another one at about 7k. A good thing if you ask me. Cause i know that when i first bought the car i beat the hell outta it and definetely missed a 1 - 2 shift now and again and touched near 8k if not passed that. That's the mistakes a newb makes, but she still doesn't leak anything!
