All my previous cars had the feature that automatically locks your doors when you move forward (one did it when you placed it in Drive and my Van does it after a few seconds of moving forward). My Versa doesn't. Does anyone know of a aftermarket device that will do it?

Thanks!

Just curious... why would you want that? most people try to disable that feature.

vahagn; Yes, you will need to rewire the headlight switch, it is entirely possible. I don't have the specifics, but yes, it can be done.

It prevents "unwanted" people from simply walking up to you car at a traffic light, parking lot, etc. and getting in (if you didn't lock it). It is a great safety feature in congested areas, etc.

It also makes it harder for emergency Crews to get into your vehicle after an accident.

Not any harder than if you do normally lock your doors...

I'd love the door-lock feature (some unlock for you too when you turn off the car), but hate DRLs with a passion... that would make a car a no-sell for me.

Ok, I live in rural NH, so I did not understand the auto lock feature at first... hell, I almost never lock my car, and I know people who leave their keys in the ignition when parked in public places.

I live on a farm - same thing. However, in order to get food, etc. - we have to drive into the City. Anyway - if some kid takes your car for a joyride - make sure you don't let your Insurance Company know you left your keys in the ignition.
