Just got a new M35 and I love all the bells and whistles it offers! One thing that I'm very surprised at, which I had in my Mercedes, is that when I put the car in Drive, the doors would automatically lock. Is this a feature I need to program on this car or is it just not something it does? If it's not offered, I'm very surprised at this oversight.

far as I know, it doesn't do that...BTW, some of us..at least me...prefer not to be locked in against our (my) will. If I want the doors locked...either when I'm in or out...I'll lock 'em myself. But then I'm old and ornery...enjoy your M!

Welcome to the forum.

There is indeed no auto lock on the M. Did you like that feature because of having kids or because of driving around areas that have car jackings? Just curious.

There is an aftermarket module available at KP Technologies that will provide this feature (which I personally never liked in my other cars)...

is there an auto lock when the key is out or in the car with the engine off? I was cleaning my car with the windows down today and the key in my pocket. The doors automatically locked. I thought the key was accidentally pressed in my pocket. I tried to test it again and i left the key on the passenger seat with the windows open. a couple min later the doors locked automatically. Is this normal?
