Like the title says.. i had an auto rb20det installed in my s14. I since had a shop convert it to a 5spd.....so i went out and found a 5sp ecu. off the line...the 5 spd ecu works perfect, but over 5k rpm, it feels like its missing and doesnt accelerate. the auto ecu is not as good off the line and the idle is more unsteady(but not horrible), but it pulls ok up top. What could cause this? The shop that did this swap is now out of buisness, so i cant ask them what they did or did not do. the 5spd ecu is so much smoother in City traffic, so i would love to use that ecu. I do know i have reverse lights if that means anything.

Check your timing. For RB20DETs, the manual ECU requires 15 degrees of base timing and the auto ECU requires 20 degrees of base timing.
