I swapped my 97 240 to a 5 speed. I'm using a 96 ECU. JWT website says to repin the ECU and replace the rear O2 sensor to an earlier 3 pin one.http://jimwolftechnology.com/w...D.PDF

My question is, what does earlier mean? 89 - 94? or 95 - 96?

The main O2 sensor is a 3 pin one. I'm wondering if just splicing the rear wires to the main one will work.

If I remeber correctly the rear O2 sensor sends a 4.8v (or ohm?) signal every now and then. If the main one does something similiar will it work or throw something else off?

Any ideas?

'95-96 rear sensor.

S13 had no secondary sensor.

You can't splice into the main one. You can, however, use a B14 Sentra main O2 in place of the 4-wire 2nd O2 you have now...it's got the proper 3-wire plug you needs, and fits the larger 18mm 2nd O2 bung in your '97.
