I've been looking around e-bay and I have read the threads on the floor mats and so forth, but I was wondering if items such as those listed below have been purchased by any NICO members and if they were authentic NISMO parts. I know NISMO makes iitems such as these but I want to know if THESE ON E-BAY are the real deal.

Oil Cap : Titanium or AluminumClick Here To See Example

Radiator Cap : Only seen a few of theseClick Here To See Example

Ground Wire Kit : Look very authenticClick Here To See Example

Just curious. Thanks for any comments.

My question would be: Why?

First 2 are just a logo on a regular cap, last one is not really necessary on a 1990 240.

Not sure about the wires (though my gut says "knockoff"), but the other two items aren't NISMO. Check out http://www.courtesyparts.com under their NISMO section to get a good look at the real deal.

I was just curious Hitman, everytime I search through e-bay looking for stuff I see atleast 20 auctions for that sort of stuff. I wasn't actually going to buy any, don't have the money to waste on non essential stuff like that right now. I have checked out courtesy for a lot of stuff Mojo, and having seen the prices I thus had to questioned the e-bay stuff(as everyone should with a lot of e-bay).

The radiator cap is most definitely Nismo. The oil cap is most definitely NOT.

The ground wires, well I've never seen them before but I am 99% sure they are not genuine.

who cares if it genuine nismo. Most people just want the name stamped on the part. If its just for looks and served no purpose, go with ebay cuz itll serve the same purpose to you.

Good point. Heck, you could print some NISMO stickers up on your PC and slap 'em on every part of your car! :)

Thats true Altiman, what does an aftermarket oil cap (even nismo) really improve other than looks? As I understand it, the radiator caps are rated for higher pressures but I just don't get the after market oil cap industry. What I really don't understand though are the plastic covers for GAS caps, I even saw a "NISMO" one a few weeks ago, why bother covering plastic with more plastic. Oh well, they wouldn't make more of them if no one was buying them.

Authenticity generally = 0. Sorry.

I honestly don't trust much off ebay, I'm glad I didn't get scammed when I bought my cheapass nismo embroidered sparco knockoff seats (don't care, they work, serve their purpose)

I figured as much ZERO, I just wanted to see if anyone had experience with these sort of items and what the consensus was on them. I see from your sig you aren't too happy with the 3000GT, is it really that unreliable? I was looking into getting one before I got my first 240 but all the ones around here were too far out of my budget.

Not unrealiable, just flat out slow, heavy, and has a turn radius that seems worse than moms durango. Not to mention I have the infamous lifter tick mod.

Wow, I alway thought they would be pretty quick and agile. The price of those cars is outrageous around here, cheapest I saw an SL go for was well over 6K and the VR4 is astronomical. I had a dealer tell me the 98 VR4 was more than the camaro he wanted to sell me(arg) which was the same year and going for like 12K(never did like that place).

No no, my SL is auto, and is SLOW. I've heard nothing but good things about the manual dohc's, and the VR-4s are just awesome.

OIC now. Sorry for the late response, haven't checked my e-mail for updates in a while. I don't know if it is just around here but I haven't seen a single tuned 3000gt in person(saw one in a mag, and that one in the 2F2F prelude).
