Post

So I thought id do one of these. Car is pretty simple so far after purchasing it bog stock which was what I was after. Its a legit 97 Type x SR and all.

The day I bought it.

Got come Coilovers.

Then an OS Giken Super Single Clutch.

Both installed along with an Pivot Headlight Controller and Carbon Rear Garnish

So far so good but some stuff rocked up.

The Parcels:

Parcel One containd One 18x9.5 +12 Cr Kai, URAS Subframe Pine Apples, URAS Soild Gear Box Mount, URAS Soild Shifter, TEIN Tie Rods with Spacers, TEIN Tie Rods Ends.

Parcel Two contained One 18x9.5 +12 Cr Kai and URAS Catalouge

But on closer in spection there is a little scratch and a slight flat spot on the wheel, this could of happened in freight somewhere and its small enough not to really worry about and they are only for the rears so all good still.

Last but least Parcel Three. Now this is what im really excited about GP SPORTS SUPER KNUCKLE Kit!!! Containing the pair of Knuckles, little bolts and a Rack spacer with a spacer for that spacer, stickers and instructions in Japanese.

All together now,

So here we have the SR Crossmember and mount and URAS Mount and bits and pieces.

Before:

After:

Done:

Next was the URAS Solid Shifter, Stock next to URAS.

Done:

And then.

So... Im still awaiting seat rail and extra Bride seat cushions to arrive then the seat will go in. Also soon to sort out my brakes then I can do my 5 stud conversion and run my Cr Kais.

Ive got heaps of parts left over from my old SR20 R32 4 Door Build that will find its way onto the 180 when the time comes, should be alright... I hope.

It's a Nismo. It says optional, but so far pretty much all the stock Type-X's I have seen pictures of seemed to have it. A lot of people probably opted for it.

If only you were closer i would have bought your old 180sx seats from you.

So what are you going to do with them?

P.S The coils made such a huge difference. Without, the car is like 5/10With, the car is a 10

Thanks everyone.

I forgot to mention that ive also fitted an NISMO PRO 2 Way LSD with 4.3 gears, It feels awesome compared to the 3.9 gearing I once ran.

Ill prob keep the Type X seats for a rainy day who knows if ive been offered the right money ill sell them off.

But yes the Cat back system is a NISMO item and it also came with the Optional Front Strut Brace too and a HKS suction kit but i soon replacd the filter after part of the filter was sucked through my turbo.... Lucky ive got a brand new HKS 2530 with HKS Actuator and Tune Length Turbo Manifold with a merge collector ready to go on that was left over from my old SR20 R32 4 Door Build before the 180.

Ill update as much as posible with lots of picks

Wow, man your car almost looks like a Skyline, except its ugly.jk jk.

Always loved the 4 door skylines, esp in R32 trim, paint it all black and rebadge it as a Mafia Sentinel.4 door drifting for the win!!

I was planning painting it the color BH painted his 180 even before I saw his new car.

But the 32 is history and long gone plus it was not as good as what my 180 is handling wise.

Dude, no need to show off.Its a lovely Skyline ill give you that, but why dont you put an RB series engine in, or maybe go with one of Nissans V6/8s.Id imagine it would be a super fun project.

Sigh.

At the time that I was going through with the conversion everyone at the time was doing either 1j, 2j, 1.5j, rb25, rb26, rb25/30, rb26/30 conversions to this and that all over the place... and I wanted to do something different so I went with going with the SR20.

In doing so the motor will sit further back and will give better weight distribution. Being any alloy block it gives alot lighter front end and even weight yet again round the car in general instead of having a heavy front and light rear.

Also the SR20 being more Torquie than my old rb20 and having alot better power results with mild bolt on's it would of gone quite well for what I wanted to achive out of the whole package.

But family events happened and it was getting in the way of things and it sat round for like a year doing nothing but collect dust and take 3/4 of my wage per fortnight so I sold it as a rolling shell.

So I kept all the good parts ( mostly 3/4 of the list of parts above ) for my next car which in being the 180. So everything I had for the 32 will go onto the 180 in good time. Im in no rush to put it on as ive got more other important things to do first.

I thought about Nissan V6/8s but it would of been more mucking around with engine crossmembers from scratch etc as for all I did was put in an SR engine crossmenber that bolted straight up and the motor sat fine. Even the stock tailshaft lined up perfect to the sr box and that too also bolted straight up to factory holes too.

Maybe one day ill build another SR20 R32.... and complete it 100% and ill prob go with a 2 Door next time round... who knows.

how about a sr-powered GT-R skyline? lol

sounds kinda crazy/stupid but I imagine it can be done with some kind of adaptor plate on the transmission and the sr20 would be sooo much lighter with a better weight distribution than the iron block 2.6L six with twin turbos...but then you might as well just get a subie or a lanevo

Yeah there are pre made kis here in AUS for GTR, Z32, Z33, RB25 boxes to bolt up to an SR20... the idea is do-able.

Picks you might ask?.... Okay! These were taken a little while back where a few mates of mine meeted at a servo at the bottom of this mountain run for a full on grip session right through the mountain, it was really fun then up the top of the run there is a good drifting section before doing the last half of the run.

Car looks very classy my friend.

I love that exhaust. Would you happen to have any sound clips of it? It probably sounds very subtle and clean.

Any sound clips would be appreciated.

Again, very nice car.

One Love,

Ghasty
