I have 6.5 up front, but they were put in by the previous owner, so i can't really help with the install Q's. I had a sweet sounding system in my old S13 coupe. I had two JL 10w3's in a custom box built between the rear strut towers and facing the front. When you folded down the seat, you saw them. As long as you have a good, quality sounding sub, them facing you shouldn't be a problem.

the fronts sound great if you put infinity 4x6's in the front. The put a little tweeter in the pillar(i've seen someone use pillar gauge mounts to put a speaker in..and put a gauge in the other one...very slick)...then in the back I put a board straight across the back where the original dropdown cover was. I forget the measurments but just get out a tape measurer and you can fashion a board real quick. Right now I have two 6x9's in the rear with a 12 inch sub sitting in the middle of them. I'm building the rear box that will drop down from that board I have in there now, and it will house two more tens....ya...very nice if you do it right. I'm in the process of building the rear drop down piece that will hold the tens..but I'll post pics- I've also seen 10 and 12 inch subs molded into the panels"armrrest's" for the rear of the car...that would give very good acoustics too...hope i helped out-

I put some nice infiniti 4x6's in there and they can handle alot, and still sound clean, otherwise, you are gonna have to build a custom enclosure, as for the trunk, I have a 10" Fosgate HX2 in a sealed 3/4" box @ .75 cubic feet, which seems to sound great. I used to have 2 12" audiobahns in a bandpass, but the one 10" is twice as loud. Just get a quality subwoofer, and you will only need one of them for thumps, unless you plan on spl competitions.

I put 6.5" Infinitis in the doors. I got them installed at Brandsmart, and they made a couple of wooden custom mounting plates for $30 (free installation otherwise). If you're industrious, you could make the mounting plates yourself. I just have some ghetto swap shop 4x6s in the back, but it all sounds good INSIDE the car.

Worse. I'm not sure about the last s13's, but my '90 sounds like crap. ZERO bass response. I've heard the stock systems in the s14's and Altimas and they sound waaay better.

I took the brackets out of a Honda CRX Si. not very deep and almost dont reach but with a little finesse and a drill/driver and you gain a lot of fullness in the sound. As for subs I built a custom enclosure that filled the corners so i was still left with some storage space. Got two 12" JBLs in there. loud! :ylsuper ! Ill see if I can post pics tho its not really finished. plan to paint it.

This is the speaker deck setup I was telling you about. Works great in a hatch-There's a box built around the sub which also helps support the board. It's a sweet setup. It took my from 2 4x6's to two 6x9's w/ tweeters...and the 12 inch sub in the middle-Ten million times better-

you hatchback guys remember when the speaker faces toward the glass it hits aharder facing toward the car might have a cleaner sound but has a lot more airspace to push
