Hi. I'm new to the forum and have limited experience with car audio install. I have the base factory audio system (non-Bose) with six speakers in the doors only. Can someone tell me what the module is in the trunk of my G, right under the rear glass? It is under the carpet at the ceiling of the trunk, approximately 6x8 inches and has several connectors with different colored wiring leading to it. Is this audio related, and if so can any of the wires be used for signal? I am looking to install an old Bazooka RS6A-HP powered subwoofer in the trunk.

Thanks in advance.

I believe that is the satellite radio tuner.

Search the boards...I did a sub install on my 2005 Coupe. I believe the bazooka can accept high-level inputs (if not might not be the best option). Simply splice in from the rear deck.

Check out the G-FAQs for the FSM (link in my sig) for wiring diagrams.

Good luck! I did mine on my G37...not a hard job. The worst is getting the power wire from the front of the car to the trunk.

Yep that's the satellite radio receiver. I don't believe there are any speaker level/preamps ran to or from it, i could be wrong. but if you need a 12V on/off you can tap into one of the wires. For my system I tapped into the rear door speakers and used the powered antenna amp for a 12v signal.
