I want to be able to connect my Ipod to the stereo in my V. I have the base CD radio now, so I know I have to replace that. I have the $ to upgrade the reciever part but can't afford speakers right now. My question is, do I *HAVE* to replace the speakers, or can that wait? I remember years ago factory speakers were cheap and any aftermarket radio could shred them no problem, but the factory stereo in my V sounds better than some of the "good" stereos in previous cars. My point being, are the factory speakers better now than in the past? I don't plan on getting some million-watt setup or anything, or huuuuge bass. (I'm old and losing my hearing as it is, I don't need to get any deafer )So whadda ya think?

Shouldn't need to replace the speakers.

Also some are replacing the base radio with the SL radio to have the AUX connection.

Yea, alot of members are just upgrading the deck to the SL 6-disc...if you can find one on eBay or something. Otherwise the dealer rapes you for a new one and would be better off just buying an aftermarket unit.
