audio problems???? please help.

yesterday, my car stalled out on me due to needing to replace my battery on 2002 q45 with its original battery. i went to the advanced/discount auto since it was up the road from where i broke down. i replaced the battery with the recommended battery from advanced auto.

the moment i left discount auto, i noticed that i had a problem. when turn anything that involves audio on (navigation, radio, cd, tape, etc.), it cuts on and off. has anyone had this problem before?...or know whats going on here?

Probably the car's security code needs to be reset. Time to see your friendly dealer.

Are you sure you don't have an alternator problem? Bad voltage regulator or low voltage can cause the radio to cut in/out. Why did your battery fail? Just old or alternator problem?

i took it into the dealership this morning and they said that when the battery was replaced or jumped it created a power surge ( something to that effect) that messed up my electrical system that controls my audio. its going to cost me about $2000 for the part replacement and about $300 to $400 for labor. any good aftermarket decks that work great with the stock screen or is my best bet replacing with another stock radio/cd/tape/navigation. now that i think about it the a/c is controlled using that screen too. any recommendations?
