I put in my amp and subs in my 03 coupe, about a week ago, and when the subs are on, the car idles lower than normal, sometimes as low as 400 RPM's, and the subs sometimes don't hit, they are silent when they should hit. The battery that i have doesn't look very good(i just bought the car). I figured the car would be able to handle the amp and subs that i have, but I think i will either need to put an optimum battery in, or put a capacitor in. What do you guys think?

You could try a new battery. But it depends how many watts you're running.

The charging system in the G sucks...there are options.

1. Get a better battery. I have the yellow top Optima, much better than OEM.2. Use a CAP. The size depends on the wattage you're pushing. My MTX is rated at 1800w max according to the spec sheet. I use a 1F CAP.3. Get a higher amperage alt.

Even with the battery and the cap, I still notice a slight hesitation when heavy bass notes hit, but it's much better than when I had nothing.
