hey im not much of a car audio person, ive searched here quite a bit, and these i think are the results i want, just making sure. i have an 89 240 hatch, i was reading through here trying to figure some things out, i see my car has 4 4x6 speakers, so...just wondering what some of the audio gurus on here thought about this.

im looking for good quality head and speakers, with a little bass so i can have them before i get a sub, and then when i get the sub i want a little more than just plain bass, but no beating sub, sort of halfway in the middle, i listened to the combo below and it was about what i was looking for...

anyway first, head and speakers:

pioneer DEH-P7600MP deckhttp://www.bestbuy.com/site/ol...oduct

all 4 pioneer TS-A4670R speakershttp://www.bestbuy.com/site/ol...oduct

then the sub and amp:

rockford 300w rms mono amphttp://www.bestbuy.com/site/ol...oduct

single rockford p2 12" sub, in a q-logic sealed boxhttp://www.bestbuy.com/site/ol...oduct

look okay? any recommendations? ive seen people on here that say a sealed box for the application

anyway that was a nice long post , thanks everyone

Here's a few threads about set ups

Sub HeavySmall SubAmp ThreadMore Amp info w/ Simmsleds system balance postSmall Set up

Okay, after little light readin, let me give you som Cliff Notes.Pioneer HU is a good pic, use it's bult in amp to run a pr of 6.5's in the doors (either make plates or find some one with some woodworking skills to make for you). Then a small amp/sub set up in the rear, no need for full range speakers behind you unless you're trying to do something beyond "simple music". Think good solid power ratings amp and a small (8 or 10) sub in a properly bult b ox.

Good Luck.

Find a HU you like, the Pioneer you listed looks great. This is the best time of year to look for Open Box specials. I recall buying a $400 Kenwood HU a few years back for $135, open box - missing the remote.

If you don't feel up to making the plates, the 4x6's you listed are good, but the work to fit 6.5's will be more than worth it.

A nice amp/sub set up will really "fill-out" the sound.

you should be able to put a nice HU, door speakers, amp & sub systems together for about $400. Don't forget you'll want to run new speaker wires into the doors.

I got 4 4x6 pioneers in stock location and 2 12" kicker comps in the hatch. Sounds prett good. Got an old school kicker amp pushing 280 watts. Not even giving the speakers rms. Fixing to get my old 15" crunch back along with my 600watt kenwood amp. nd I got another amp under my bed *may not work * I hate audio systems..if they didn't sound so good I would of been turboed by now but hey I still got the tunes. My friend just got a 240 for x-mas and the deck was fried. Along with speakers blown and wiring F^. 6hrs later we finished. Should of been and hour and half job at the most. But I was trying to teach him how to do things and had to do everything myself. Also I didn't have a tester and we spent 2hrs alone messing with the dam power cord because we had no power.Only to find out that the ground was screwed up. Also if you rewire do it when there is light not at night.

Hear's a deck that is quite a bit cheaper then the one that you are looking at:

Panasonic CQ-C3300U

It has some pretty good features on it.
