What do you guys think? I have a stock system, and I listen to mostly techno aside from some random rap and a little bit of rammstein (ok alot)....its german heavy metal...yes i dont know how to speak german but its the only rock i like.

..ANYWAYS I know you get what you pay for, i dont expect a world class sound out of this but i am on a tight budget and just want a LITTLE more bass. I plan on getting a 6.5" touchscreen pioneer headunit, OR a deck that has bluetooth capability with my phone for mp3 streaming to go with this getup. Roger will def help me install. I also plan on getting a new interstate battery.

Good idea? any reccomendations on this package...whats a good wire gauge to use or is it universal. I plan on getting a cap later too if it makes that huge of a difference.

oh and ive seen alot of talk about 2 ohm/4 ohm...im done 4 semesters of electronics engineering yet Id like to know from an audiophile perspective what is the difference in regards to subs.

and amplifiers.....5 channel, mono, 2 channel....explain please? thanks guys!

the lower the ohms, the more power the amp will make. For example my sub amp is stable down to 2 ohms. I have two 4 ohm subs wired down to 2 ohms. I could run a 4 ohm setup (like a single 4 ohm 16 or 2 8 ohm speakers) but it wouldnt be as loud.

Some amps are stable to 1 ohm or even 0.5 ohm.

Look at amp ratings it will usually look like, for example, 600x1 at 2 ohms, 300x1 at 4 ohms lots of great info on crutchfield and caraudio.com/forum/

if you want a cheap set up that will do the job go to wal - mart, yes laugh everyone, my first system was all jensen (except the deck) and it was loud, and clear with lots of bass, on a budget or wanting not to use expensive equitment because of smash and grab reason go with jensen

well use common sense on craigslist. One time i did find myself in a scary situation, at a homosexual crackheads house tryin to sell me some busted *** orions claiming that they were brand new when that particular line was like 6 years old already. He tried to hook them up and they didnt work so he started ripping the box apart in a crackhead rage. My girlfriend was horrified in the QX4 cause there was hella transsexuals walking the street. North Park, San Diego (i think thats where snowsurflax lives haha)

We hightailed out of there, the guy was like "you dont want the subs??? itll only take 5 minutes to fix them." NO THANKS!

The rest of my experiences have been good.

And yea i wheel my civic but not as hard as this guy, lol

Yes wheelin' import cars is the best! I like see'in cats out on a trail in an AWD Subaru & then they don't understand why they get stuck.

i have a really good cheap setup im ordered last night from crutchfield.

I ordered it to use along with the Bose 6cd changer in my 02 path,

the total came to $296.95 for everything they dont charge shipping or tax.

ill provide you links to all the things

Subs: http://www.crutchfield.com/App...y=MTX

Amp: http://www.crutchfield.com/App...p=115

Wireing Kit: http://www.crutchfield.com/App...=2919

then you need a converter since im using the bose headunit, but if your putting in an aftermarket navi (my plan in the future) then you dont need this converter just make sure your new navi has preamp sub outputs.

heres the converter link: http://www.crutchfield.com/App...2SLC4

then you need wire connector tap kit which is cheap

heres link: http://www.crutchfield.com/App...PP606

All thats from crutchfield.com if you read the reviews on the subs, all the people say they hit harder and deeper than the ones for $500 .

Check it out tell me what you think

Hey Qxxx4 you've been given some great advice. Craigslist is definitely a good resource. Just inspect the subs for any deformities like tears in the cone. Also find out what model anything is and do some research. http://www.onlinecarstereo.com has some decent prices as well. These are on sale right now: http://www.onlinecarstereo.com...12512

I wish I could have gotten mine for that price. I consider these to be some of the best musical subs on the market. They have a much more dynamic frequency response than most of the other subs out there. Electronic music thrives off of the lower end of the frequency spectrum and really demands more than a loud thump. If budget is an issue I suggest saving and waiting until you can get something that will work best. You'll be a lot happier, I know I am. If you really want to make your car sound good go all the way and dynamat/accumat it. It wont make any rattling noises from the inside or out and you'll get some serious definition from your speakers. I just finished accumatting above the headliner. Here's some pics:
