i bought an alpine 9885 head unit for my car with the factory kit and when i went to get it installed, the person installing it said that the wiring harness would not work and i should wait for the right cables to come out. how did everybody, or those who did, install an after market radio into their versa?? please, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have your installer contact Metra, they have a kit so that it connects right up.http://www.metraonline.com/Take some pictures when it's installed.

i went to both circuit city and best buy, i know they are not the best for car audio, but around my area i dont know where else to go. they both went on metraonline and neither one was able to get the right stuff for my head unit.

I personally did not use a harness and just did what they call a hard wire. At the time of my install, no wiring harness was available. I just used T Taps and tapped into the wires on the back side of the factory harness. That way if I ever decide to put the factory head unit back in for some odd reason, the factory plug is still there unharmed.

Im not in the mood to take out my headunit right now and make a wiring diagram, but I just checked my source for all wiring diagrams, and they seem to have a diagram now up for the Versa.

I have NOT checked this, so if you use this, please double check.

Just a heads up, I too did a hardwire and installed a Kenwood DPX-302 and the blue tooth kit, and I used your guide to start with and had some problems. I checked everything with a meter, and there were a few differences. I never did figure out what the light blue wire was for... So based on what gen your car is, or maybe model, I drive an S model sedan, there may be minor wiring differences. Any idea what the center harness is for? I don't seem to be having problems with any features of the car, but that center harness is just hanging out...
