I would check the fuses to make sure you did short anything out when connecting the new radio. If everything checks out ok, I would try putting the old radio back in to see if it still works. If it works, most likely there is something wrong with the harness (if you are sure the head unit is ok.)

Active speaker's amp turn on wire not hooked up. Make sure you hook up the amp turn on wire from the deck to the amp turn on on the harness to turn on the amps for the factory speakers.

if your installing a deck in for the factory one the ground for the wire harnesses do not match up, if your using one of those ez stereo wiring harnesses made for your car. Try establishing a separate ground somewhere on the chassis. Might I suggest somewhere around the shifter, any mounting screw. Hope this helps if you haven't already attained a solution. Good Luck!

I had the stock head unit and the front speakers weren't working. i changed the deck and the front speakers still doesnt work. i was told that there is an amp that control the front speakers and that amp maybe mess up. i want to try to bypass the amp and conect the speakers directly but i dont know where the amp is located

Well on my 89 240sx, the front speakers have that cross-over/amp thingy attached to the back of the plastic mounting for the speaker.

You can basically unscrew the plastic mount and rip out that whole electronic crap. Then you just basically find the positive and negative wire by looking at the colors of those wires with the ones near your harness.

Once the amp/cross-over stuff was cut and the wires directly to my speakers, the speakers worked w/ my aftermarket head-unit.

in my '95, the amps were mounted in the trunk next to the rear speakers. I had a dead one too. I gave up on the factory stuff cause the cassette was dead and the CD player skipped like crazy!! Car only had 16K miles on it at the time. Everything else on the car was immaculate. I've gone full component.
