I received my 97 pathy and i was starting to hook up my system from my old car when i realized that it was basically impossible to find the firewall to get the power wire through to the battery up front. I ended up coming to the decision to run it underneath my car but i was wondering how you guys ran your wires, those of you who have the same body/model as me. Can you guys help me out following with pictures if you have them explaining what you did... because im really anxious to hook this baby up thanks in advance...

crawl up onto the radiator support under the hood, then look back behind the motor, past the intake manifold and all the fuel lines. you'll see the big hole where the main wiring harness passes through.

if you get under the driver's side footwell with a flashlight, you'll see it also. just get on your back, look straight up and there it is. it's quite a ways up there, but it's all very accessible once you learn the best way to contort your body into a comfortable and practical shape.

I remember looking under the drivers side and im pretty sure i saw that but it looked to be too packed with other wires and also when i looked at it from the engine the other wires were all together and covered in a heat wrap which would make it even harder to get it through.

Do you have any suggestions on how i could get the wire from my hatch to underneath the car so i could simply run it all under the car?

I would recommend not running it underneath the vehicle..... there is just no need for it.

If all else fails, drill a hole in the firewall! I usually have to drill in 80% of the vehicles I work on. A simple grommet then some 3M Strip Caulk and you are good to go. If it's an automatic transmission, then I drill where the clutch would go. Drill from the inside out. Half of the time there is a indentation in the metal to use as a guide. It's very rare you can drill the hole from inside the engine bay.

i run all my wires through the main harness grommet. you don't need to run it inside the plastic sleeve. i just cut a slit in the grommet, making it into a C, to make it easier to remove and reinstall. once removed, i enlarged the center hole, to allow all my wiring to fit through it.

run your wiring, reinstall the grommet, and sleep well knowing that your vehicle isn't all ghetto rigged.

Methinks we are having our leg pulled.
