I have just re-wired my grounds for my speaker amp, sub amp, and cat and still have a annoying throttle whine in one of my speakers. I am having trouble finding good metal to ground to in my trunk. If anyone knows where some good grounds would be i would really appreciate it.:help

The whine doesn't always come from bad grounds...when you run the wiring for the speakers, you should always run them on the other side of the car from the power and if they have to cross, make some room so that they're not too close to eachother. Also, you could have a bad amp if you're powering your highs. That may be a reason why you're only hearing it in one speaker. I have an S14 and I know that the whole bottom area of the trunk (where the spare is) is a good place to tap into for a ground.

how long is your ground wire? It is suposed to be 12 inches or less.

i used the ground wire by my rear lights. Open the little area by the tail lights. I have the s13 fastback model. It might be different for other 240 styles.

If the power cable is long enough, you could try re-routing it. I heard that if you run it too close to the ECU, you might get interference.

Also, when you routed your battery cable to the trunk, did you have to drill a hole into the firewall to run the battery cable through? Because that's what I ended up doing because I couldn't find a better way through.

be sure to put a rubber grommet in any holes you drill in the firewall!!
