Any body here have any suggestion/recommendation on new after market stereo unit on 04 Murano? I like to keep the factory amp and speaker.

Thanks,

Thanks,
That's honestly retarded. Change the speakers and amps, not the HU

Maybe he wants full I-Pod control or other features that the factory radio doesn't offer.

I hate seeing people with aftermarket HUs and stock speakers. All you get is features. Dumb IMHO

The problem with a lot of factory radios in newer cars is that they do not have flat output. They are heavily EQ'd from the factory or have low frequency limiting dependent on volume level. GM's are the most notorious for this.

And to be honest with you, features are all people want these days. I-Pod this and XM that!

Unfortunately this is required when using stock speakers! Using an aftermarket HU with the stock amps will allow you to overdrive the speakers. There's a reason that the manufacturer puts a limiter on the bass going to the speakers at higher volumes. They can't handle it!

I don't disagree with you on the fact that the OEM speakers are sometimes worthless, but the reality is that not everyone jumps in and replaces the entire system. A lot of customers like to start out with the headunit, then add on from there.

So by your reasoning, if you keep that OEM radio which limits bass output, then when you add your fancy new speakers and amp they are not even going to receive a flat full range signal.

I'm saying either replace all of it... radio, speakers and amp or keep OEM radio and use a Clean Sweep, new amp and speakers.
