my boy wants to experiment with my g35's stock bose system and put a stock sub from another car and see if it works..we all know that the stock sub from bose in the g35 sedans sounds like crap for the rear passangers..he wants to take the stock mark levinson sub out of his car and put it in mine..he said its the same size..and i said we could try it out as long as the infiniti amp would be able to push it...the mark levinson sub is from a 08 lexus GS460...he is completely re-doing his system in that car and is taking it out..he wants to see if it will fit in place of the stock g35 sub and if the infiniti amp will be powerful enough to push the sub at high volumes or will i need to buy another amp specifically for the ML sub...

you may ned to buy a new sub for the lexus sub .see if you can find out what your g35's sub puts out for power if it puts out more than what the lexus sub is rated for chances are you are gonna blow it up after you crank up the radio. if the g35's amp puts out less power than the lexus sub is rated for and you hook it up correctly it should work without any problems. but you wont know for sure until you try .

There are two other things to consider. One is the impedance of the sub. If they do not match then you may need to impedance match them.
The other item is the sub may have dual voice coils and you have one or it may have a single voice coil and yours has two. Another poster stated his Infiniti had 4 wires going to the sub which may indicated dual voice coils.
