I recently purchased a 2001 I30, and sometimes I have to push the audio control buttons on the steering wheel several times to get them to do anything. Is this a common issue? Two other I30s that I've driven have the same problem. Cruise control buttons work fine.

Try gliding your thumb across the button, instead of pushing it. I had the same problem with my Maxima, and "the glide" always worked. Problem is now solved, NRG steering wheel, no audio buttons, no more cruise control!

That seems to help some, but I feel like there's probably a loose connection somewhere....

I think they're just s**tty buttons, it seems to be that way in all the Maximas I've been in.

You can also try using some spray electronics cleaner to see if it is gunked up.
