I have always like Audi, I have heard they are fast cars also. Not that this is saying much but you could dust a GT mustang and Z28 Camaros. Not sure about SS Camaros or the Trans Ams. but the audis are mad fast. You should get an AWD model. Or are they all AWD

This is a quattro.

I dont think id give it up over the Q, its still slower than the Q. But if I could get it for like 3000 I could make it an ADDITION to the fleet, as a winter car! w0000t!

You might want to try the forums over at VWVortex.com (site is down right now).

I really like the old Audis, and thought of getting an old Quattro to get around during the winter.

Don't know too much about the '90 V8 Quattro...good power, but very heavy. AWD is nice. Did I mention heavy?

If you're buying a 14 year old Audi, you might want to have a chunk of cash set aside for repairs. Hell, any 14 year old car is gonna need work and Audis aren't super cheap to fix.

Audiworld.com, hands down. My bro hangs out there and they know their stuff.

To my knowledge, the Quattro V8 should be a precursor to the A8.

Oh, and Vortex is kinda intertwined with Audiworld. Most of the members of one become members of the other later. If you look real hard you can find a familiar name on both of those forums :D, but it's been a LONG time since I've been to either of them... maybe I ought to, Golfs and Jettas run the same bolt pattern I do... (cheap rims, anyone?).

No S8 (or even A8) back then, so that doesn't quite work.

Ever seen Ronin? That S8 is friggin awesome. Then again, it's hard to not be awesome against a couple of big, clumsy, RWD Citreons when you have two turbos and Quattro.

uh, 250hp, 4wd...maybe mid-14s high 13s. they're not that lite, so im not sure how quick they are. however, APR makes a lot of stuff and just a turbo upgrade made 450hp.

Oops... go me...

Whatever, S8s sound friggin awesome and they're fast as hell.

S4 is a beastly little car. Unfortunately it is a bit beefy too.

S4's are deceptively quick. The new ones are very fast.Very capable track cars (that's tracks with turns, not drag strips). Yes, they're heavier because of the AWD, butthey're also more luxurious.I've driven several on the track. Very fun cars.S8's are huge. They handle well for land barges, but you're still tossing around several tons of car. And you'll feel it. They're also not cheap. S6 is a much better size. I have a good friend with a modified twin turbo S6. Very fast and comfortable.

those RS6s are super bad ***. APR has one that is just chipped making like 560hp. and i always wanted an S4 2.7TT. i heard some bad things about the KKK turbos, but i dunno if its true. i know its an audi, so repairs will cost a lot as will performance parts. but damn they're awesome.

I use to own an early 90's Audi Quattro sedan, great car when it drove but unfortunatly it liked to spend most of its time in the shop. For the most part all early 90's Audi's where fairly unreliable.

If your interested in a an A8 Quattro, look at the ones that are 1999 and newer. Unlike its VW Passat sister (the A8 is based on a stretched Passat platform) the entire vehicle is built in Europe and not in Mexico.

The newer A8's have a sweet interior and Quattro handles great in all weather.

Your balls must be totally scorched. Its more like 6 Sport quattros in the US. A friend of mine actually owns one of them. His is pictured on the audicarclubna website (not all of it pay).

RS6 are blazing cars, but I think I also would probably go for an M5 first. The Rs6 interior is straight out of the A6, which seems a shame for a $90,000 car. It also takes a special synthetic oil available only thru Audi. Mobil 1 will void the warranty. Plus I'm not a huge fan paddle shifts. Old fashioned stick is not available on the Rs6.

Reliability is definately an issue for Audi like any other upscale German marque. BMW and Mercedes are no more reliable.Audi ownership can be very rewarding, but they are not cheap to repair.

Sorta. The rare sport quattro looks like a shortened coupe GT quattro. The Sport Quattro also has acres o'vents all over the hood, some carbon fiber body work in places, and has bigger wider tires/wheels. Very distinctive. It's essentially a full bore race car. Very fast. The more common coupe GT's are far more attractive but not particularly fast. I wouldn't mind owning a coupe GT, fun car.

yeah, but I was thinking I saw another turbo quattro similar to the sport GT but not pushing the 300 horses...

Coupe GT's are pretty cool though, I wouldn't mind one either, there's actually a rather busted *** one at a local lot that could be had cheap, it just doesn't run though...

what about a turbo quattro wagon? I was looking on ebay in a state of boredom yesterday and found some with manual trannies.

I think they were the 90... had a pretty neat looking frontend though, would make for a killer sleeper car.

I'd avoid the busted ones. Very expensive to revive. I know a few guys with S4 Avant (wagons). Big time sleepers. I see quite a few of them at track events. They're actually better balanced than the regular S-4's.
