Back from the dead!

Any of your auburn guys care to help me figure out why my car is running pig rich? Also, where is the best place to get an alignment around here?

I saw a turbo'd maroon s13 outside of broun hall on sunday night. Anyone know who that might belong to?

How did I miss this thread? I live 2 min from campus and work in Opelika. Ive got a two tone s13 hatch I've had for a few years thats a work in progress.

To the OP's with the Z, was your car at Lynch Chevy bodyshop a few months ago getting the front end painted? I had to put the charcoal stripe back on the front bumper.

So are there any unofficial Nissan meets here?

thanks for the revival!

i'd try to help but i'd really have no idea what to look for. and i'm not sure about where to get an alignment, but i'm sure someone else will know.

i haven't seen a turbo'd maroon s13 here, but there's one i see a lot around montgomery. maybe it was the same.

good to see yet another nissan person around here. now i just need to start seeing them all on the road...

no, my Z wasn't here a few months ago. it was in montgomery running poorly and not being able to make it here due to overheating. now it runs well, doesn't overheat (unless long distance on the interstate, but i'm still trying to fix it), and, the best news, MY Z IS FINALLY HERE IN AUBURN!!!! has anyone seen it yet? the Z you saw could've been one of two others i've seen around here. i saw a red TT once and there's this red 2+2 too. i've seen others, but not in red.

as for nissan meets, not that i know of, but i really want one to happen soon! we need to set up an all Nissan/Infiniti meet. maybe i'll organize it... hmmm. that would be neat.

to the guy with the turbo'd black hatch who this thread was originally about: i meant to bring this thread back up a month or two ago because i saw you and your car in winn-dixie's parking lot when i was working. i tried to wave you down to say hey but i guess you thought i was some freak so you kept going lol. i heard it before you pulled in. you pushed it hard and i heard the BOV then you sat in a parking spot for a few minutes. that's a really freakin' loud car.

I love this thread. You guys probably haven't seen my car around recently because it ate another slave cylinder and I have yet to install it (doing that this afternoon).

Running rich guy, I'll give you a hand this weekend if you want. I can't make any guarantees that we will fix it, but we can drink beer until either the problem is solved or neither of us cares any more.

Definitely down for a meet, but it would have to be soon because the 240 is going home next month and the CA is getting a new oil pump, intake cam, and front and rear main seals, among other things.

JDMZ32, I think that I saw you at winn-dixie yesterday. Were you wearing a sparco hoodie? If it was you then I saw the Z parked in front of Winn-Dixie too. Glad that you finally got it here.

Here's the deal with my car. It had been running crappy so I was just going to drive it home over the holidays to fix it where I have some tools and a place to work. However, I drove it to Locos before the holidays and it left me there stranded. Had to get it towed back to my place and spent two days figuring out why it wouldn't start. It turned out to be the rotor cap. Fixed that and then had the pleasant discover that the tow truck bent my tie rod. So I left my car here over the holiday. I fixed the tie rod when I got back, but the original problem still exists.

Symptoms: Running rich (almost down to half a tank and I've only driven about 50 miles plus you can smell unburnt gas in the exhaust). When it cranks, it Idles high (~1200 - 1500 rpm) and it sounds like it might be skipping. It tries to drop the idle down to the normal 800 rpm, but it starts to sputter and die so it kicks the rpm back up.

Things I've tried: Remove MAFS and clean, new air filter, new plugs, new o2 sensor. I tried unplugging each injector, but it really didn't seem to make much of a difference. Anyone have ideas?

What kind of car is this you have? Sorry, I haven't owned anything that used a distributor in for ever! My offer still stands though, if you want some help. Looks like I will be working on my car this weekend too, as I was unable to get a freaking clutch line for an s13 in this damn town. The knuckle-draggers at Auto Zone were NO help.

look in the parking lot at winn-dixie. it was there for 33 hours this past work week (KICK ***!). look in the very back of the lot by college st or on the side of the building on E Univ. usually where it's parked. away from lazy screwers who don't give a **** about the possessions of others, therefore pushing carts into cars. o, and nearly running ME over in the CROSSWALK WITH YELLOW LINES AND TWO STOP SIGNS AND SPEED BUMPS! i hate people.

thanks man. yea that would be me. i'm usually always in a red sparco hoodie with nismo/HKS patches or a leather coat. should've said hey! would've chatted/showed you the Z. hope your car gets better...

advance is always better. i mean, they're no nissan experts (minus my friend in montgomery), but they're better than autozone from my experience, as is the store itself.

as mentioned before, i worked 33 hours this week. you know what that means. PARTS! SOON! probably buying my friend's TT radiator, getting a radiator hard pipe with silicone elbows and a silicone upper radiator rose, and 4 AMS pullies with nissan belts, as well as install my new water pump/timing belt. and i'll order nissan 300ZX key blanks! i'm excited.

Stephen, do they need more cashiers at Winn Dixie?! I'm getting 10-15 hours/week at ColdStone...

if you want hours, i wouldn't recommend WD. i got lucky this week. i've had 6-hour weeks twice in a row multiple times with 12 hour weeks in between. no good at all. but cashiers do tend to get more hours because they can be cashiers AND baggers so more people can call them and if someone calls in sick, the cashier NEEDS to be replaced by someone unlike a bagger, so they'd be more likely to call. THEREFORE, i'll probably become a cashier soon and get more hours and maybe another (and decent) raise (i just got a SIX CENT raise, wtf). and i don't think they need any more cashiers, but try bagging relatively soon. they're promoting some of the cashiers to office/management positions and therefore promoting baggers like me to cashiers. not really much of a promotion, more of a replacement. i'll let you know when that happens. may want to apply to be a bagger now. it's online.

Isn't minimum wage set to go up from $6.55 to $7.25 next month or something? I used to work at the Gourmet Tiger and there was always this big thing on the wall explaining it. $6.55 rules, I remember making $5.25/hr. THAT sucked. Hard.
JDMZ32 wrote:that thing has a CA? i figured it had a KA-T. hmm.
Na son, Ive never even driven a 240sx with an engine other than the CA18. I even owned a 92 coupe with the DOHC KA for four months and I never once drove it. CA POWAAAA!!!!

And I know Auto Zone blows, but I'm over off Opelika by Ross st. and the Advances are over on Longleaf and damn near out in Tiger Town. Its a long way for someone without a working vehicle.

I won't be running again until next week because Enjuku sent my crap UPS ground (no shipping choices FTL) and it won't be here until Monday. When I am in action though I will come by the Winn Dixie and do donuts in the parking lot until you come outside or the police are called.

lmao to donuts! i've done that twice now! when it was raining at night in my WD parking lot. also did it when it was very wet behind the WD off opelika road. if you came and did donuts, that would be great! i'd get in!

it will go up to $7.25, but not next month. i believe it'll be june or july. i made $5.50 at rave in montgomery when it was $5.15, and i made $6.50 at hibbett in montgomery (some of you may have seen the Z there too) when it was $5.85. so my current $6.62 is both the highest and lowest pay i've ever had .

don't think i've ever seen a CA in person. good luck on getting your stuff asap and getting it all working again.
