This morning I spent another substantial amount of time searching the internet for something that's important to me when I should have been working. I just can't seem to concentrate on work when I've got automotive concerns...

Doing some searching on this and other forums, I found one dyno sheet that compared the stock manifold to an Xcessive version. This one dyno sheet that I found was posted by a guy from AMS on another forum. He said that the run with the stock manifold was done while the engine was suffering serious boost creep. When they did the run with the Xcessive manifold, the boost creep had been repaired. These runs must have been done on different visits. To me, that makes this comparison nearly worthless.

So, to all of you that have an Xcessive intake manifold: could you PLEASE go get some back to back testing comparing the stock manifold to the Xcessive manifold. I know this would be time consuming and possibly pricey. The best candidate for this task would probably be a shop with access to a dyno or someone that can get a good deal on some dyno time.

Perhaps the guys at Xcessive would be willing to help with this. Seeing how they don't have any dyno-graphs to provide support for their product. From what I've read, when the company split, the departing party did not leave the dyno-graphs from the initial R&D of the intake manifold.

Ideally, three runs would be necessary: 1.) Stock manifold2.) Xcessive manifold without changing the tune from running the stocker3.) Xcessive manifold with tuning to maximize the upgrade

Preferably, this would be done on a turbo ka.

Anyone all ready done this? Anyone interested in doing it? I'd love to do it myself, but it could be a year before I'm ready. Jeez, I don't even have a ka-t built yet.

On a side, note. I would also like to see some results with an extrude-honed stock manifold too, but that might be asking too much.

Yeah they have it

I've been seeing alot of great intake manifolds for the ka but so far I haven't seen any dyno graph or its improvement anywhere yet. I'm not just gonna spend $450+ on something that hasn't been proven yet.

Not to thread jack but I've seen the O and J performance manifold which looks awesome but $950 just seems too steep for me.

unfortunately, i don't think there is any company out there that has done an intake mani and posted up a before and after with their product. i might be wrong but my lurking hasn't turned up with any such results in the past year or so. good luck on the hunt though.

Even AMS didn't just do a straight 'swap' when they tested theirs. They also switched a few other things. I think the thread is around here somewhere.

I saw that O&J one a few weeks ago. Looks sexy as hell, but I agree with the price being a bit steep. I wish I had the tools to do this stuff. I would sit home all day and punch out cool ish like this for a fraction of what people want for this stuff.

Once you figure out how much R&D goes into fabricated parts and then how much time and effort it actually takes to make tehm, I think you'll eat those words.
