Well, this is my second one that broke. I googled the problem and it seems a lot of people have it recently. Probably just a bad batch of batteries. Anyway I was just letting people know that the actual console is not the only unreliable pos Microsoft makes.

we went through 5 or so total. had 2 repaired then sold them. when the last one started to give us **** we sold it as fast as possible so we wouldnt have to wait WEEKS for them to fix it and send it back.

never had a prob with the wireless mics though. they handled a lot of abuse but it was more on the line of extreme volume and spittle than anything else.

I just bought 2 headsets. The GF's mic port in her controller stopped working correctly. Figured this would be a great option as the controller still worked fine otherwise. Unfortunately, the controller thinks ther eis a mic plugged in when their isn't so it won't sync up the mic to her controller. I have a crap load of controllers though and I used on that I suspect has a slow thumbstick, and it works with the mic fine. If the thumbstick is indeed "slow", then I guess I'll have to buy a new controller anyways. No regrets though. Anything to free up the wired mic connection to the controller is a blessing. I have 2 controllers with broken shoulder buttons as a result of the controller hitting the floor when I accidentally yanked the controller off of whatever I set it down on with the mic cord.

I've heard a LOT of bad feedback on the wireless headsets. I bought one anyway a while back. Haven't had any trouble with it at all. My only issue with it is that I wish the volume had a few higher settings.

My controller's mic port also died, although it didn't lead to the controller constantly seeing a mic. Instead, my wired mics would randomly loose connection. That's how I justified the cost of the wireless mic (I figured I would have to either buy another controller or a mic).

That's how I justified my GF's mic. Now mine on the other hand happened to come with Tom Clancy's End War. Nevermind that the game was $89 with the mic included. Actually still a good deal considering I wanted to try out the game anyways.

If you really wanted to start crap, you'ld go say that on an XBOX Forum. Make sure to leave a picture of you with your address included as well.

Yeah I haven't had a problem with my wireless mics. I have two of them. I've thrown both of them a couple of times, out of anger, and they still work perfectly.

I would love to see this guy go onto an XBOX board and start saying that crap. Nobody will even reply to you if they know rule 14 of the internet.

You seemed to miss the point completely. This is a small gaming section within a car forum. Noone cares what you think is the top console. If you want to pick a net fight over which console is best, then step up to the plate and go to an XBOX forum and pick a fight. And to be clear, I said to go to an XBOX FORUM. Not XBOX Live. A real gamer would know the difference.

GTFO. If you are REALLY gonna flame us Xbox owners, go to a REAL Xbox forum or better yet go to Xbox.com's forums. I am not gonna speak to you any more and neither should the rest of us. I'd rather not feed a silly troll such as yourself.

There's a big difference between owning a 360 and being a mindless easily-provoked faboi.

As usual another 360 bash thread fails because of people making random generalizations. How do they break? Under what conditions? Did you setup a controlled test eliminating the user end of the equation to definitively say that its the headset and not the way it's being used and or abused? Like every other complaint that has been raised against the 360 I've yet to have experienced any trouble with it. My only problem is that I can't seem to get the headset and my wireless controller to both connect to the 1st player profile. It always bumps the wireless headset to 2nd player :/

Well, I'm too lazy to read this whole thread but I've had my wireless mic for almost 2 years now and it still works fine, no problems at all.

I wonder if you have the same problem as C-kwik and your 1st player controller thinks it already has a mic connected...

I concur. IF you have access to another controll, try it. The second one I tried had the same issue, but the third one worked fine. Unfortunately, that controller has other problems that occur because it had been dropped a few times so I can't use it permanently for this. I may have to break down and buy another new controller. Hardwood floors and game controllers don't go well together...

RGR that. I was driving myself nuts with this one. It felt like I was just a dumbass so I didn't want to call in to tech support but maybe it isn't me after all. I'll give that a shot.

Frankly, I don't mind being tethered to the controller, but that's not the reason I bought it. It was 2 reasons. 1st, as a work around for a wired mic issue. 2nd, because I have a collection of controllers that don't work properly because they've fallen off the table when I put it down to do something. If I didn't need to stand up, I didn't bother to take off the headset but if I forgot it was still on my head and got up or accidentally hit the cord, the controller would fall off the table. I think of it as a long term investment into not having to buy more controllers for being clumsy.

I did not mean for this thread to be bashing the 360, or anyone or anything for that matter. I was just saying consider staying away from the wireless mic. Yes, it really has a problem. A lot of people are having it and I called microsoft. They acknowledge the problem and it's being shipped to texas right now.

I've been breaking the wired headsets since the launch day of the original Xbox. I've gone through 4 Xbox 360 wired headsets. At $20 a pop, I'm with the President Elect, it's time for a change.

For years, I just plugged in a GE telephone headset. It was simply more comfortable than the one that comes with the console. Pretty cheap too. Heck, I used one with my original Xbox as well. I did buy a small adapter that had the mute switch like the MS headset. But both mine and my GF's GE headsets stopped working. So we reverted to the MS headsets as GE no longer made the one I used and I wasn't willing to pay $20 for a decent one. But they the MS headset started having troubles as well. Though, it looks like its actually the controller that is having the problem.
