i have a coolant leak, trying to figure out where.

at first, i figured it was just leaking from the front cover, but its not on the exhaust side of the motor. its leaking on the intake side, and i dont even think any coolant runs through the intake side of the front timing cover to the block.

i know its not coming from the water pump. and i know its not coming from the coolant neck with the three bolts. its all dry around it. BUT, you can see where the coolant is running from that area, along one of the molding lines on the block, back to the starter, over the starter and down to where the transmission to engine brace/bracket is on the intake side.

normally the front timing cover leaks are on the exhaust side, where the coolant goes from the water pump back into the block.

someone help me figure this out, i dont know if its something thats ON the timing cover, or something that like...is just on the outside of the engine that could be leaking.

info? help?

Have you thought about using those UV additives and checking it out with a blacklight to see where it exactly leads to?

As for the 2 mysterious holes, they probably have to do with oil instead of coolant.

Good luck man, leaks suck.

you sure it's not leaking from the weep hole of the water pump. The very first runner of the ka intake was a water jacket and can leak.
