I dont know how many of you heard about this, but if you're from CT you absolutely must have. A week or so ago a Connecticut police officer was shot and killed in the line of duty responding to a domestic dispute call. He was shot as he entered the house and was held hostage the entire day until his assialant decided to end his own life. Officer Lavery later died from his injuries. The officer's home town was only 2 towns over from my own...
There was a huge funeral last week for him, attendance was over ten thousand people including police/fire/ems from all over the state and beyond... Even Orange County Choppers showed up with their police bike to honor officer Lavery's memory.
Anyways there is a fund being built for the officer's family, to help support his wife and two children. We have been discussing on a different board for the Berlin Turnpike in CT setting up a meet/car show this coming spring to both support the Lavery family and generate money for his family's fund. We were going to try to make this really big: with cars and support from all over the place. Something like a $10-$20 entry fee that will go directly to the fund (although we havnt yet settled these details quite yet). Location will be in CT, most likely someplace on the Berlin Turnpike (rts 5 + 15 in CT).
I just wanted to know how many of you guys would be interested in showing up for the event. Its bound to be very big, with lots of support from all areas of connecticut and beyond (and most likely police support as well): I thought it would be really cool to have a good 240sx/NICO presence there, to just be a part of it all. ...And if for nothing else to support a good cause and see some awesome cars. If anyone has any thoughts or ideas about the event planning that would definetly be nice.
