If you just got an e-mail from him containing a virus that does not mean he has a virus. It is incredibly easy to spoof return addresses. The SMTP protocall has no check validating who you are when you specify a return address. I get virus-containing e-mail from about 5 people on this board per month. It only takes one person to get infected and have their entire address book used to send messages and act as return-to addresses. I know people get viruses "from me" sometimes too. In fact one guy on this board was cussing me out because he thought I tried to infect his computer. What a jerk....

True, I forgot the whole spoofing thing..and the funny part is that I know how to spoof email addys:sad

Gah, I'm just tired of getting a message from cox saying that they've intercepted yet another virus from someone who has my email addy. Its not like I give it out very often.

luckily I get all of these emails at my yahoo address and the yahoo spam filter usually takes care of it all

It's gettign bad though... usually a 50-1 ration on spam to real email i get there.
