I got some general questions about CCW.

I've emailed you guys and ya'll said circa 1800 for a set of the racing wheels which is a solid price I must add.

1. What is the real average time it takes to hammer out a set of wheels. 2. What metal is the wheel componentry produced out of?3. How long on average do the wheels last in a racing application?4. Can you weigh a 17x10 for me :D5. What is the price to have a wheel repaired if the outer rim is bent? Timeframe? 6. Can I get a non-polished rim? Perhaps anodized rim :D7. If I let you have a night w/ Chet, can I get a discount?

I remember your email. :)

1)Build time depends on materials. For 1-piece and 17" 3-pieces sizes, we can generally have them built and out the door in 2 weeks. The 18" materials are running short right now and we're on back order, so that is about 1-2 months right now (which is still shorter than most 3-peice manufacturers).2)T-6061 forged aluminum center and spun outer barrel.3)Our company is only 9 years old, but we have some race wheels out there that are 7-8 years old and still being run. We recommend intervals of checkups on the wheels when they hit ages like that, because of the extreme conditions of racing (Im referring to full race cars, not just weekend road warriors at track days).4)Since our wheels are built to order, I dont have a 17X10 to weigh. You can expect it to weigh between 17-20lbs, the difference all the depends on whether its a front or rear wheel mostly. The forged center is the mass of the wheel, and a front wheel will be heavier because its thicker to clear the front brake assembly.5)Repair generally costs about $115 for a rim shell, whether its inner shell or outer polished shell. If you send the wheel back to be repaired we dont charge labor to fix it, just shipping costs. turn around time can be anywhere from 1 day (it takes atleast a day for the silicone between the barrels to dry) to weeks, depending on material in stock. wheels in for repair are generally repaired within 1 week time though, rare occassions will result in the less-wantable long time.6)We can anodize the rim as well as the center, the lip is polished first before this processed either way. I've included a pic of a polished lip after being anodized, attached to a black track wheel. This wheel is also equipped with titanium bolts (this is $200 extra on the cost of the wheels, and saves 3lbs total over the 4 wheels, very expensive for the weight savings)7)discounts only apply if Chet's secret identity is that chick from Honey. :)

neither is my gutted interior, but i thought we were talking about race duty things?

to me, anything that follows function is hot. light, strong wheels rock, and Ti(while not "pretty" is gold to me, from my ME(mechanical engineering) backround...

you guys can make any offset/bolt pattern/hub bore?

there are some limitations. for example we cant make ANY bolt pattern. someone called about a month ago about some classic 3-peice wheels for an H2 hummer. Because of the mesh pattern, there isnt enough room in the center to machine all the holes for all the lugs the H2 has. As long as its a car though, we can most likely do the bolt pattern. As far as backspacing, we can take it as far as the material on the forging will let us. People with large front brake kits need more aggressive backspacing, sometimes requiring us to move into spacers. I doubt that would be an issue with a 240, whether it had a 300zx brake conversion or not.

Had a good discussion w/ Steve.

I pretty much gathered that they can, and will, make anything that is possible from an engineering and safety standpoint.

Those sizes are pretty normal and they make the wheels to your spec, so I don't see why not.

we can produce all of our product in pairs of 2 except the rear wheels on our drag pack (16X10-11.5) because of traction/safety issues of using the product without the front runner skinnies. everything else can be purchased 1 at a time if need be.
