I finally got another S13 (Jesus, it's been 3 years since I've had a 240sx) and the CD/MP3 player wont eject or play CDs. I know it would cost a ton to go through Kenwood, and it doesnt look like a great HU anyway (we never carried Kenwoods where I installed so I dont know much about them) so I'm looking to grab another one in the next month or so. I havent installed in about a year and half or two so I've been out of the loop on new stuff. What's a good HU that plays CDs and MP3 CDs? I dont want anything expensive right now, that will come later. I just want to listen to some good music in my car.

Thanks in advance.

I prefer the Alpine units for an overall package...... price, aesthetics, performance, quality etc. You can check out the units in my sig. All Alpines play MP3 CD's and have iPod control. Let me know if you have any specific questions on any of the models. All are in stock and ready to ship! I would say the most popular is the 9874 since it has a rotary volume knob as compared to the push button of the 9872. The 9874 also is the only unit with the AUX jack on the front..... if that even matters to you.

Thanks man!

9886 for the BioLite display. 9874 is for poor people.

Well, I just locked myself out of the Kenwood so I may end up getting a new HU sooner than I planned, which sucks since I dont have much money to play with after buying the car yesterday.

Does anyone know what I could do about that Kenwood for the time being? It wont turn on anymore, I assume it just needs a master code input or something.

As in it won't power up? Or it powers up but it's locked out?

Well, when it first locked me up it was on. The display went blank and I couldnt do anything. Eventually I had to pull power to the thing and when I plugged it in it wouldnt power on at all.

It should absolutely power up regardless of a code. If it doesn't, then it's either not getting switch/constant/ground or the radio is bad. There may also be a fuse on the back of the radio if I remember correctly..... I'm getting old!

Yeah, it has a fuse but the fuse is good. Oddly enough, it does have power, it just wont power on anymore now that I'm locked out. Its very odd.
