I could definitely use one too! I have a jerry rigged fitting using the old banjo, works pretty good, but tiny drip every once in a while. Have been looking for this part for a long time now. If you guys are having them custom made, who's making them? Or can I get one from you?

I can't remember where I posted it but someone suggested I get an aluminum AN fitting, grind off the threads and retap it for a metric thread. Did it 3 years ago almost with no leaks.

Do some searching, I cannot remember where I posted it.

summit only has one that is JIC which has a flare angle of 37 degrees opposed to the 45 degrees of other AN fittings. This is why we are interested in the fitting adapter.

i don't know what kind of hose you're running for the oil, but if you're running an Earl's, Aeroquip, russell, etc. line chances are it has AN fittings which is 37 degrees flare. AN and JIC are interchangeable and both use 37 deg. The entire "-4, -6, -8" etc. terminology is for AN only if I'm not mistaken. 45 degrees is SAE 45 and I've never seen people run that in automotive applications.

so what is the difference between AN and JIC then?? I thought it was in their flare angle, but I must be mistaken.

@Darius,"AN fittings are a flare fitting, using 37° flared tubing to form a metal-metal seal. They are similar to other 37° flared fittings, such as JIC fittings, which is their industrial variant. The two are interchangeable in theory, though this is typically not recommended due to the exacting specifications and demands of the aerospace industry. The differences between them relate to thread class (how tight a fit the threads are) and the metals used.

Note that 37° AN and 45° SAE fittings and tooling are not interchangeable due to the different flaring angles. Mixing them can cause leakage at the flare."

Behold the power of Wikipedia.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AN_thread

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/JIC_fitting

It appears that there is not a huge difference between -AN and JIC. Just one is industrial and one is Aerospace. JIC is more for hydraulic applications (higher pressure). At least that is how I read it...

yes, AN and JIC are both 37 flare. i think there are some very subtle differences but for compatibility sake they are the same and you can interchange them freely w/ no issues.

Agreed. From what I have read / seen, the differences are not apparent until they are used under high pressure. (some seeping / leaking can occur) At what pressure (PSI / BAR / ATM) classifies as 'high pressure' I do not know.
