Hey guys,

I thought I was gonna use the Perfect Power SMT6 Piggy Back fuel controller but it turns out that it isn't all it's cracked up to be. Sure it lets you adjust all sorts of stuff, but it doesn't let you use injectors more than 20% larger than stock. In my case(and most cases), this wont work to well if you want big power.

Enough rambling...

Who here can chip an ECU for me? I would like a chip for a Z32 MAF and 720cc injectors. I will then buy a fuel controller to fine tune everything.

Please leave any input you can, especially those of you who can burn this chip for me.

my e-mail is [email protected]

Thanks!-Ian

Hey Ian,

Check with Enjuku if Jon can't help you out. They have some stuff on file that they can burn for you... some of the Mine's tunes and stuff like that. Prices are pretty good too:)

you buy the chip and pay the postage I can do it for you, I'll even remove boost cut for you and change your speed limiter if you wish quite honestly the hardest thing is desoldering the stock chip...

Jon, e-mail has been sent.

LoserbabyS13- thanks for the heads up but I may use the SMT6 once the ECU is chipped. Cuz then it wont know that the 720cc's arent stock. It is adjustable at like 128 points for fuel and timing. Pretty impressive for $325. And it uses a laptop (my dad has a few laying around)

Jon,

Looking at the ECU/Chip setup I got from you, it looks like there is a "socket" on the board that I can just pull the old chip out of and put the new one in. Is that right?

If so.... SWEET! No soldering for my non-soldering skillz ace...

CA18Fastbacku sure about that 20% injector limit ? Quite a few guys running much bigger than that with no probs on the smt6. If u run a bigger afm AND bigger injectors, the correction % shouldn't be that much, huh ?

u guys doing these chips... how do these cars run with em ?can u comment on;Any performance numbers ? Driveability ? wideband tuning ? dyno ?ETs from cars using these chips ?thanks

quest- thats what the guy I talked to said. he was real uncomfotable with the fact that I'm using 720cc injectors in place of 370cc ones. He said that it would be pretty iffy if it even worked. So, I'll just get the ecu chipped for 720cc and z32 maf so I can run it for a while without having to tune it right away. I will get the SMT6 to fine tune but I would like to have a base map to run off of.

jon- i e-mailed you yesterday about that chip

CA18Fastbackr u gwetting the smt6 from the contact I posted a while back ?

makes sense what you're doing.Did he know you're running a z32 mafs ?What I'm saying is that a bigger mafs will run u lean.Bigger injectors will run u rich. The correction may be less than we think. For instance, some guys on freshalloy has proven this by running a bigger mafs of a calculated diameter tube based on bigger injectors used - it works fine with NO safc or fuel tuning whatsoever!

hmmmm...I never thought to ask the ca18 smt6 users if they had chipped ecus tho. I would think the reason for the piggyback is to get around it... anyway I'll find out.

After I told him that I was gonna get the ECU chipped and get a Z32 MAF he said that was perfect and then I should just use the SMT6 to fine tune it all. And yes, it was the same contact you posted a while back. He has been very helpful and informative.

And the one on ebay was from PacmanVR4... i should have seen him selling it earlier.

How soon do you need it? Tear down starts in about 3 weeks.

Ditto. I'm going to start on mine the last week of may. I'd need it tuned for Z32, 555cc, 8K rev limits, 18psi boost cut, and no speed cut. Lemme know here [email protected]. Thanks!

guys, you can take your ECU to any electrical repair shop , they would prob socket the ECU for not too much$, i got mine free. the socket cost a buck at radio shack and i could have prob had the guy get that free for me also.

ian i read the mail but i havent responded i just got my pc back up and running once again i had to reinstall windows. ive lost everything on my system once again:ylsuper

joe , no hurry on the ECU! but have you tried the z32 one yet??i just got my turbo in and im goin to order pistons this week now that the block is getting its work this week. 3

anyone else that wants chips email me. as of now we wont change any fuel and timming stuff. we will do maf and injector adjustments as well as raising the speed limiter to more than you will ever see. maybe once you get a dyno read out with our chip we can do a rough tune on the fuel maps but nothing drastic.

joe, joel wants us to all to getogther on the dyno so we can tune your car. he wants to use your car to do our basic performance chips off of... you got the hook up with the Rom tuning just let me know when you want to do it, and let me know when you start on the turbo swap if you want i have a "ported" stock exhaust manifold that ill trade for your stock, i wont need it due to the tube mani. and it might as well get used.
