According to the response I got in the engine section this was just me with the issue. Engine vibration at 1800-2000rpms, and vibration throughout the car at highway speeds of ~70mph (also verified by the service manager to be at ANY speed with the associated RPM of the engine vibration). Nissan claims this is normal for our cars, and has no fix for the issue. I dunno about you guys, but I feel a low to mid 20,000 dollar car should not have this kind of issue as "normal!" What steps can I take in order to make this right?

Any others with this please step forward, this is an issue with all AC's. If you have noticed this and feel it is a problem like I do, report it to your dealer as well, or directly to nissan and see if we can get something in the works to fix this!

Thanks for your attention, more information specifically with my car available here - http://forums.altimas.org/zero...stion

test drive before you buy. I got in my car took it out on a back road at 60mph and started jerking the steering wheel back and forth to feel how bad or good the suspension was and the tires. I warned the sales man before hand i was gonna do this, he said ok you can do it, then he wanted to try it too lol.

I felt confident the car was good for 23k price they was asking and took it.

If it had vibrating or felt like crap i would have left and said sorry i cant deal with that.

Question is did you test drive your car before you bought it?

yeah, I test drove it. I took it out on the interstate up to about 95mph. Had some fun around the city, that kinda thing. Only thing is.. I think a swap was pulled between the car I test drove, and the car I bought, without me knowing.. that still would be irrelavent if this issue is with all altima coupe 2.5s... (the switch thing comes from the fact that I testdrove a car with no pin striping.. the car I bought had pinstripes.. nothing else to go off of aside from this.)

mine drives smooth, actually the car runs and drives great. it's pretty much the smoothest ride Ive ever had in a car I own. even with the eibach drop it rides really smooth no vibrations no shakes.

Mine vibrates as you describe on occasion. It's annoying when it happens. It doesn't happen every time, though.

I went from a pickup truck to the car, the truck used to vibrate the steering wheel to the point on 2+hr drives my hands would almost be numb. So it might be the car does vibrate, just that I can't tell it compared to my previous vehicle.

I think they're bsing him as well, I seriously don't think mine vibrates unless I goof up on the clutch...darn 3 years on a automatic is taking me a while to adjust back, lol.

Wonderful.. well as I discovered tn has somewhat of a 4 strike rule with lemon law. So I'll sit her off at another dealer and see what they come up with for strike #3... one more to go after that attempt... it really seemed legit though, like I said they even had a new one on the lot doing the exact same thing. =/

My 2.5 6MT is smooth as glass on the highway and extremely quiet. If you have the CVT are you sure it's not a transmission issue? What you describe sounds like something you'd feel if you were lugging the engine.

it does this regardless of being on the highway or not. It will do this at idle, this issue would not be realted to the CVT or 6MT, but the 2.5 engine itself.

Today I drove back up to school, and I noticed slight vibration in the steering wheel when at about those rpms at high way speeds. Went away at 70ish+

Well i dont know what this "pin striping" Is but it sounds like you didnt buy the same car you test drove, wich means they knew the car they sold you was ****ed up, and purposely tryed to off load it on you.

Car i test drove was the one i bought, was no switch. They only had 2 on the lot that was 2.5 and one was gray and one was blue. My brother picked up the gray one next day.

and i have none of these problems so i agree with everybody else, they are messing with you also.

OK, so today I progressed farther on this. Instead of relying on the dealerships word that they had spoken to Nissan, I went behind their backs and called Nissan customer support myself! I now have a file # and a customer service specialist is looking into my case. They know I want this taken care of (preferably fixed.. I love my AC aside from this!). They said they are more than willing to do anything it takes to make this right and keep me (as a first time nissan buyer at a young age) happy.

I guess Nissan wants to keep me brand loyal more than the local mountain view that also owns a Ford and Chevy dealership lol.

Also in speaking with customer affairs directly, even with my VIN number and knowing the car type said nothing to the tune of this being a "normal" thing, and are 100% behind me from what I understood today!

As for the others that have discovered this, I promise to keep you all updated as this progresses!

Thanks to NICO again for all the information so far. It helps being able to speak to other coupe owners and see if this is really as blanket of an issue as they say!

I just took my coupe over 70 yesterday, solid as a rock. So yeah, it's definitely something else.
