Just as an FYI: This morning (or last night), my Yahoo email account was hacked into. As this is a free service, there's not much that can be done.

As a result, I have had to change email addresses. For those of you who have regular contact with me, please use "[email protected]" from now on (update your address books).

I'd love to have my address book and the unread emails that were in my Inbox back, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen. :(

I'm having a terrible day between this and our NICO hacks, but knowing you guys are relying on NICO every day makes me feel better.

p.s. I have just heard that Fred's Yahoo email account was affected as well.

Sorry to hear that Greg. Some people really need to get a life and stop doing stupid stuff like that.

Catch the hacker and I'll help pay to prosecute the bastard.. Jailtime and a huge fine isn't enough for someone who interupts an important informational internet sight for infiniti junkies....

Did they get into the passwords at NICO? If so, this is a serious security risk! I tend to use the same password at multiple sites (I know, this is not a good thing to do) and it would take me time to change!

Greg, I am sorry for the pain you are going through in this regard! :( A few questions in this regard, and I will leave you all alone on this issue to deal with the action items.

Do you say the above because you guys know for a fact that the passwords on NICO were compromised (ouch! What is the plan for future protection?)?

Or is it because of some actual use of a compromised password that has occurred?

Or is it because of you believe that this is, in general, a good thing to do?

The reason I ask for clarity is that I am literally leaving on a business trip in a few minutes and do not have the time to go change passwords on anything more than a few critical, common sites (which I have done).

Basically, I am wondering if I can wait till I return in a few days, or need to wake up my wife and have her log in everywhere and do the changes quickly right now!

Regards,

Z

Looks like the damage was confined to Admins (Fred and I) and one moderator...

I'd recommend EVERYONE change their NICO password sometime soon (write it down), as well as any critical passwords (bank or PayPal).
