Okay, after hearing horror stories about trying to get Tokico blues (the stiffer, performance-oriented shocks) for our Q's, I did some searching. Spoke with a sales director for Tokico and he took pity on our plight. He put me in touch with a shop here in town that is willing to take GREAT care of us:

Here's the deal -

Rear shocks for 90-96 Q's: $55.01 EACH (#HU2892)Front shocks for 90-93 Q's: $64.41 EACH (#HU2890)Front shocks for 94-96 Q's: $66.06 EACH (#HU2890-A)

This is a total of $242 for ALL FOUR SHOCKS, which is a huge savings over any other shop, online or otherwise. According to the Tokico rep, MSRP from Tokico is $416!

They currently have over 100 rear shocks available. The fronts are arriving in mid-February, and the shop asked that anyone who wants a set contact them ASAP and "reserve" a pair so they can order enough (otherwise the wait will be longer). Rob has also promised to keep shipping costs to a minimum.

Speak with Rob Hanson at Group A Motorsports: (866) 764-8729 OR (480) 813-4776. Tell him you're a NICO member - He's looking forward to taking good care of us!!!

p.s. Joe at Scottsdale Infiniti has new OEM dust boots for $27 (F) and $61 (R) for the pair.

Hitman,

How long is this offer good for? I just replaced my front struts about 10K ago, so I'm wondering if I can buy these down the road? Or is this a limited time offer?

Just to confirm, these are the blues and are the stiffer of the two right?

Yep - But I'd be surprise if they wouldn't be nice all the way around - Any thoughts?

Does anyone have stock springs and Blues front and rear?

I do, but all I have to compare it to is the original suspension, and I do mean original, at 200k+. A little softer on the front might be a nice iteration (trade study?), but I have been a very happy camper since rebuilding the shocks. This is a fabulous deal, guys.

The problem is the blues are 20-30% [varies non linearly with temperature and impact speed] in compression ----- built assuming you have the lowering springs! or worn out suspension.

The designed compression rate is a function of spring stiffness and weight which hasn't changed with stock springs!

What one needs is a variable rebound [expansion] shock stiffer in this direction only - unfortunately none are made.So my solution is to use soft compression STOCK shocks on the front even though the lowering springs destroy them fast and change them every 40k or so.

The Blues are perfect for the rear with or without lowering springs if changed every 60k smooth roads [- 40k rough roads]

It's funny.... I love my new blues all around.... but I had someone in the car (55 year old woman) who said to me.... what's wrong with this car... does it need bearings or shocks?

I laughed to myself.... she needs to go back to her upgraded Camry...for a softer ride....

No one else has ever said anything like that to me...

Q45tech -- thanks for the combo-tip on the shocks. I take it that the Blues all the way around result in very firm ride.

I think I'm gonna go with DAE on this one and go for the blues on all 4 corners.

Can't ride any firmer than my old Civic Si or my CRX with a 3" drop.

(or my 68 GS with 50 series tires and ALL poly bushings).
