So, i've got a 1000 miles on my coupe. I went to the Nissan dealer and bought myself a few oil filters and down to walmart to get me some 5w-30 mobile 1 oil. On my way home, i decided to "floor" it a couple of more times, get some of those engine parts nice and hot to finish their break in with conventional oil.
Much to my surprise, i discovered up to this point, i never actually "floored" my car!
I stuck it in manual mode, and let it shift by itself. I noticed it would shift ~6000 rpm (about 500rpm from redline). Then i stuck it back in automatic mode and to the floor, it picked about 5900-6000 RPM and stuck there. So, i'm thinking, how do you achieve redline??
Still in auto mode, i put my foot to the floor, as the RPMs were coming up, i pushed just a little bit harder, and its like something "moved" (like a switch depressing) and i found about 10% more throttle, and the car jumped right to redline and was OUT! Without better knowledge of what the pedal is made up of, i am assuming its a "WOT" switch for the computer is what i felt.
SO, what i wanted to know, has any other 3.5 CVT (or even standard) noticed this behaviour between the feel of the pedal, and characteristics of redline?? My car just got so much cooler! :P:
