Erm....ok?

140 dB's will probably blow your ear drums out if you are listening to it while driving though...

IMO, you'll need more than your current setup to achieve 140+ db's

Stroker, no matter how silly you think your question is, someone has had it before, or will have it in the future...

Going fwd, dont delete your question, leave it there! And if you find the answer on your own, POST YOUR FINDINGS!

my fenders were filled completely with polyfill (polyester fiber filling). commonly used in sub boxes. (so now it does not have a hollow sound when u knock on the rear fenders, just a solid thud.

my trunk was lined completely with dynamat extreme.

trunk lid. under the trunk mat and walls of the trunk behind the carpet.(still have some rattle though, cant seem to get rid of all of it)

i ran a JL 1000/1 amp and two 2 farad capacitorsand 2 12" JL Audio w3v3's in a ported enclosure

it ran 131.7 on a db meter mounted on my windshieldthat was still on the stock head unit...

so im hoping that with a 1000/1(will buy one shortly) and a high quality head unit my system will sound fantastic.

however. im not sure if i plan on achieving 140 anymore. 131.7 was F'ing loud.

so now i think i may focus on upgrading the stock speakers. as well as adding two more speakers to the empty rear doors. not to mention i will also run an amp to these speakers to improve sound plus quality.

so a new head unit plus new speakers and hopefully soon a 1000/1 should give me plenty of what i need.

i was looking for something that would blow people away when turned to max. but would sound fantastic when adjusted for moderate bass. and i think i have accomplished this. at the cost of my trunk space... which is now non-existent. but i have accomplished what i wanted.

As of right now i do not own the 1000/1 yet. i have it on hold at my local car audio shop (goodmans car audio). they hooked it up courtesty to ensure it would sound good with my speakers. as of right now all i have is the polyfill in the fenders, dynamat, 2 jl 12" w3v3 subs in a ported enclosure and a rockford fosgate p6002 amp. its running 600rms instead of 1000rms. and of course the capacitors

i will post pics tomorrow.
