man... so last night was a trip.
I get off class yesterday around 6pm, and my intention was to go pick up my gf from Whittier right after class...so I usually take the 91 east to the 710 north, get on the 105 east, and exit firestone... the route is pictured below, just to give a visual..
anyways, if anyones ever driven 105 east around this time, they'd know its crazy dead lock traffic. I'm stuck in the left lane near the carpool lane behind some truck... but I'm pretty patient when it comes to traffic, I'm not in any hurry or anything..so we cut to visual scene 2, circled in red
so after like 20 mins on the 105, I see in my rear view mirror a pair of HIDs cutting through traffic like it was a motorcycle or something... a few moments later, those HIDs pull right next to me... and what do I see? a decently stanced red eg6, black wheels / polished lip, exhaust, roof wing spoiler, and a sticker in the center the back window that reads "I heart my honda" or was it "I heart my eg" or something like that (not angled or anything, sticker right dead smack in the middle)... whatever. He rides next to me for like the next 10-15 yards... then downshifts and cuts off the guy on his right to advance in traffic... this happens somewhat near the red circle pictured above..
moments later, I get toward the end of the freeway and what do you know... I catch up to the same red eg6! at this part of the freeway, I usually ride up the 605N ramp and exit Firestone Blvd.If you've never gone up the 605North and take the Firestone Blvd exit, its this fun little straight that ends in a huge right turn bank... another map below for visualization
so me and him get on the two lane exit ramp for Firestone. Me in the back, him in front of me, and some other white car in front of him (all on the left lane). As he pulls to the right lane in hopes of getting around the white car, the white car slooowly merges to the right lane still getting in front of the eg (don't you just hate that? White car probably didn't even look over the shoulder before the lane change)...so with the lane clear, I go forth on the left lane. As I pass the white car, the eg6 immediately goes back on my lane (initially tailgating me), and follows me to the end before the bank
now I've had fun with this offramp for the past 4 years (its near my gf's house). I like to practice my heal-toe at the end... so of course, at this time, I do the same and try to grip the turn (not stupidly agressive, don't get me wrong).
as I near the end of the corner, all of a sudden, I hear "eeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr" while I glance in my rear view mirror and see an HID beam shooting a 360 (kinda like Cyclops from X-men)..
I make a complete stop and I look back and there I see the red eg6 facing the freeway (red circle below). LUCKILY he didn't hit the wall or any other car...
so he puts it in reverse, and 3-points his way down the ramp to make a right onto Firestone Blvd while I'm still in awe staring at him like WTF just happened! I chuckled a bit cuz I'm staring at him, but he doesn't want to turn his head to look at me.
I don't think he was even trying to race me or anything because after he tailgated me to get in front of the white car, he kept a very safe distance while I headed forward.
anyways, I make a left onto Firestone and me and the crazy red eg6 part ways...
now as I head down Firestone Blvd, a couple blocks later (before Studebaker Rd), ANOTHER eg6 pulls up next to me out of no where! All I noticed when looking at his car that it was flat black, lowered, c pillar bar, rear tie bar, and exhuast...Now lets not forget, this is still considered rush hour traffic... so I'm cruising, and he cruises next to me for a while then slows down...
then traffic clears up and out of no where "VAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH" (that's my vtec sound impression lol)... and he zooms right past me only to slow down a couple car lengths ahead of me.As I get closer to his car... guess what I noticed. the frekkin dude has a child seat in the back and a little suction-cup sign that says "Baby on Board"
DUDE WTF?
anyways, by this time, I get to my destination, so I don't even bother saving face or anything...
that's pretty much my story of the crazy eg6's I encountered that night. But if you live or ever been to Paramount, Whittier, Pico Rivera, Downey, Southgate area... you'd know its a very common thing with honda drivers (no offense to those that aren't idiots).
I live in Long Beach... and no one really tries to street race or anything here. Its all just a bunch of fix gear riders everywhere...
but as SOON as I step into anywhere North of the 91 freeway... street racers EVERYWHERE
oh and btw, if that was your red eg6 (paint was a little faded, black hood might I add) or flat black eg6 with the baby on board sign...
