Cliff notes: Should I hook up the wiring harness(es) to all the sensors, injectors, coils, etc BEFORE I drop my RB in, or wait until after I get it situated in the engine bay to mess with wiring? Seems like it would be alot easier to hook everything up beforehand while the engine is sitting on a pallet.

Story: Well my KA developed some knocking the other day, probably a rod bearing or something else internal -- I'm not going to bother repairing it. I'm now out a daily vehicle so I just want to get my RB finished up and swapped ASAP. After 2+ years of putting it together I'm really looking forward to finally hearing it run and abandoning my NRRBA brethren LOL. All that's left at this point is to run some vac hosing for the BOV and WG and figure out what I'm doing for a turbo drain, plus some misc bolts here and there. Once that stuff is wrapped up the motor can be dropped into my s13, custom downpipe/exhaust fabbed up and IC pipes modified...

I'm trying to get as much done before the swap as possible to make it easier down the road. I'm wondering if I should hook up the harness(es) to the motor ahead of time or wait until after I've got the motor swapped into the car? Right now all electrical harnesses are unhooked... Only vac, coolant and oil lines are connected. I pressure tested oil, coolant, fuel and intake systems and everything is air tight

Def hook the harness up After you swap the motor. Otherwise it will be a Real Biotch setting it in, And also might tear some wires or scar them in the process.

The only sensor that is a PITA to get to is the air regulator underneath the intake manifold. If the wiring is installed, it tends to get hung up on crap as you try to drop the engine in. Good luck! And take video of the startup!

Thanks for the replies guys. I figured the harness might get hung up on stuff. Also seems like the air regulator and the injectors might be a PITA to hook up...

Another question, I need to find some of those metal clips for my injectors, can I rip them off any other nissan with top feeds?

just get a greddy intake manifold and you wont have to worry about the injectors and regulator being a pain in the ***

the injectors are on a sub harness that plugs into the main one, you dont need to disconnect them individually

and i say connect it before. the stuff under the intake manifold is a ***** to get to. you arent going to hurt anything as long as you are careful. just dont lift the engine from the harness and youll be fine.

if you have a crossover intake, atleast hook up your injector harness, other than that, the rest are easy to get to

Yeah stock intake, thanks for the tips I'll hook up the injector harness before I drop it in.

Got the turbo drain and studs and vac hoses situated, hopefully start dropping it in the next few days..

Also, I've lost/bent/broken a bunch of those metal injector connector clips, can I rip these from any top feed nissan injectors? Or any other source for them LMK (autozone/checkers is much appreciated, would they have these?)
