hi I'm new here and would like to start by giving those of you who live on the East Coast a tip that might make the cost of importing JDM engines easier....

here goes...now don't flame because some of us might not know this.

J-spec cars can be found in the Carribean countries such as Jamaica and Guyanna and other countries that drive on the left side. the U.S. dollar is also stronger there ($40-$1 Jamaica-USA) so in theory you could buy more.

so check it out. happy hunting.

Well, heres a few things to consider.

1) The Yen is 127 to the Dollar. So how would you be able to buy more in theory? : )2) You still have to get the engine here. : ) Also, it's the same as getting a car from Australia, most of those engines have been driven over 100,000 miles. : )

Enjoy your day!

Do you want to import just the engine or the car itself?

For the car, it's seriously not worth it due to the shipping and registration fees you will have to pay.

I also doubt anybody in those countries (people willing to import) know much about the SR engines and you will most likely end up with a loq quality engine with a lot of miles on it like Daunt said.

I was just trying to give people on the East an alternative to Jp or Au.....I mean shipping from the West Indies' gotta be cheaper for us here(East Coast) than countries halfway around the globe right?!?

don't get me wrong I am NOT trying to drum up business for myself. I DO NOT know Nissan's entire model lineup for those countries. Obviously those interested would have to do research for themselves. Its just something I thought to share after I went home and saw all the lovely J-spec cars there(right hand drive NSX, anyone?)

Don't worry, we aren't angry with you or anything. : ) It's just the market doesn't hold the same possibilities as the JDM market holds. Enjoy your day!
