atp light help needed

i have a 2002 nissan pathfinder 4x4
recently the atp light came on my pathfinder.
{ atp means that the transfer case is not receiving a park signal from the transmission ??? }
it only comes on when the vehicle is parked.
i went under the car to see if i can find some loose wires , i found one.
its right next to the resonator location { i did a resonator delete }

i have a bit of a rat problem around my area so it would not surprise me if they ate the ground wire.
i have no idea where that ground wire leads to or if its even causing the issue.
ive tried to push the pathfinder while it was parked with the light on and i also tried to park it on a hill
{ i was inside the car the whole time } while my brother tried to push the pathfinder}
the car did not move as if it was in neutral
how can i diagnose this atp light???
