Here's what I did on Saturday!! They had an open house at the speedway. Saw race control and got to take 8 laps! Only got up to 100...had to stay behind the pace car...

OMG Joe. That is the coolest thing EVER!!!! :dblthumb: Did you get anybody to take a video? I bet you had a blast.

You should have taken that pace car, knocked it loose and slammed it into the wall and yelled GET THE HELL OUTTA MY WAY!

I could have passed the pace car (new RS Camaro) but then they boot you from the track.

I'd like to do the Richard Petty experience where they let you drive 140+ :)

They do that here too. I would rather be a passenger though. They say that the driver will come inches from the wall. I'm afraid that I am so claustrophobic that I wouldn't be able to get all strapped in like I'm sure they strap you in. :frown:

Very cool!!!!
but, 140+.....not so much for me.
Would rather do 0 to 60 or 90 as fast as my car will let me...:shifter: ......or go thru some twisties near the limit of the car.

It's in a (sort-of) race car, not your POV. Any you are strapped in from all angles 6 or 8 point harness. I believe you also have to do a class before-hand...

POV. You must have been in the military!

I would just like to have that track and my car for about an hour. I would also like to have access to a drag strip and meet some of the jerks that want to street race me. My car club has tried but it is too expensive and we aren't that big. Had a POS Prelude revving on me the other day....really?!?!?

SO FUN!!! I can't believe they let so many cars on there at the same time.

OK, next time...get some footage of the gauges, and I want to see the big smile on your face! ;)
