Yes you will need one.

The RB crankshaft, being a straight 6, is longer and thus prone to torsional resonances at lower frequencies[RPMs].

Without a mass damper tuned to the cranks natural modes of vibration, you could get some nasty and sometime fatal twisting of the crank.

This resonant twisting can slo break the oil pump.

I have a tuned ATI damper[for an RB26DETT] that I not longer use on my FED R32 GT-R; made a custom tuned one for my particular needs.

If intestestd I will sell it[has only 1000 miles on it] for a very reasonable price.

Just E- Mail me if interested.

I also have a lot of analysis on these mode of vibration which I would be willing to share with you in detail so that you can see that I am not just trying to sell a damper but that the need is real.
