Hi guys, I am going to post this question in other forums also since this place is kind of slow....
Anybody here have any real knowledge of the feasability of installing a Vortech or ATI S/C onto the QX4/Pathy VQ using those company's other VQ applications and modifying it to work?? I know I will need different charge pipes and ECU controls, but is there any obvious reason why a ATI or Vortech S/C will NOT bolt up to the VQ in our SUV using the same adapter hardware as say, a 350Z/G35c or FX35 application??

If you run less than 5psi, i hear the stock ecu can take it with no modifciations.
It will not bolt on. That is for sure. I've already asked the manufactors.
But the modifications will be slight, so they did say it would be easy to modify to fit.
So if you buy a S/C kit, total cost should be around $8-10k with installs, modifications and tuning.
You can also buy parts of ebay and do the entire thing for under $1,000 for parts, and install it yourself. Some people have put in xterra superchargers in their QX4's. You will need to modify that also.
Keep that in mind before you start dreaming (a dream for me, but by all means could be a reality for you, no chance I have that kind of disposable income).

As far as I know, the Xterra S/C from the VG33 is not compatible with the VQ35 motor. I do agree that the cost to FI will get quite spendy, these parts are not cheap...and the kits are outright expen$ive.
But, I just realized I have a CNC end mill at my shop, so I gues I could make a S/C kit myself, but I would like to copy ATI's or Vortech's brackets and parts as a starting point...anyone wanna loan me the brackets and hardware from a S/C kit???
